Kakapo parrot

The kakapo parrot is a nocturnal flightless parrot and is considered to be ancient. It is the heaviest parrot in the world weighing in at 3.5KG.
They originally were all over the New Zealand islands but due to the introduction of new predators they were hunted and their eggs eaten forcing them to the brink of extinction.
They are live only in New Zealand and there are less than 100 left. Though they have been taken to predator free habitats and have been breading.
